Anglers in Hastings Pier

Anglers used the landing stage as well as the end of the Pier to catch fish.

The Hastings and St Leonards Angling Association was based on the Pier from before the First World War. Throughout the 20th century angling was a popular pastime for men, and occasionally for children and women too. There were frequent angling competitions on the Pier.
