A newspaper report about the investigation into the fire on Hastings Pier
A Hastings Observer article from 2011 outlining the problems the Criminal Prosecution Service have had in trying to prosecute the two teenagers arrested after the fire of 2010. The CPS did not know how the fire was started and had no evidence to link the fire to the teenagers.

Fire hit Hastings Pier for a second time on 5th October 2010. The alarm was raised at 1am when a small fire was spotted in the ballroom. The flames spread rapidly, explosions were heard by local residents, and flames engulfed the Pier for seven hours before the fire was finally brought under control. The RNLI and other emergency services were called in to assist the firefighters.
